Side Table with Jacob’s Ladder Top
​Designed for small spaces, this playful side table features a functional Jacob’s Ladder top that adds an element of surprise to storage. The legs are secured with lap joints and engineered to pop apart and fold flat, making the table easy to store or transport.
OVERVIEW
This woodworking project involved designing and building three identical side tables using traditional joinery techniques, including finger joints and lap joints. As an added challenge from my professor, I integrated a functional Jacob’s Ladder toy mechanism into the tabletop—merging playful interaction with practical furniture design.
